| i almost did it.... i almost killed my xanga. i was on step two of the tutorial on how to delete your xanga (which i thought was dumb, but actually ended up saving it) and i realized that if i did that, i would lose over three years of documentation of my insane life. (at least i think its three). i then proceeded to read past entries and laugh at my melodramatic years of high school and transition to college. it was fun. i also got to look at pictures... i like pictures. anyway, just wanted to say something so that my xanga didnt say "love & sex" every time someone looked at it, i kinda realized that was creepy. merry late christmas everyone, thank GOD for our SAVIOR! i can't believe it's almost been a year since the Lord had seized my stone heart and turned it to flesh. He is so amazing, it has been such a year of growth and amazement. next time you see me, say "hey michelle, praise God that he saved you!" later folks- happy new year. ps- i watched Little Miss Sunshine not too long ago, and i loved it. here's my favorite quote, which i think could apply to anyone who's lived past 18: "So if you go to sleep until you're 18...? Think of all the suffering you're gonna miss! High school's your prime suffering years! You don't get better suffering than that!" | | |
| i usually hate cheesy stories and fowards and things like that, but i like this one, and it has a good theme. teenage girl about 17 had gone to visit some friends one evening and time passed quickly as each shared their various experiences of the past year.
She ended up staying longer than planned, and had to walk home alone. She wasn't afraid because it was a small town and she lived only a few blocks away.
As she walked along under the tall elm trees, Diane asked God to keep her safe from harm and danger.
When she reached the alley, which was a shortcut to her house, she decided to take it.
However, halfway down the alley she noticed a man standing at the end as though he were waiting for her.
She became uneasy and began to pray, asking for God's protection.
Instantly a comforting feeling of quietness and security wrapped round her, she felt as though someone was walking with her.
When she reached the end of the alley, she walked right past the man and arrived home safely.
The following day, she read in the newspaper that a young girl had been raped in the same alley just twenty minutes after she had been there.
Feeling overwhelmed by this tragedy and the fact that it could have been her, she began to weep.
Thanking the Lord for her safety and to help this young woman, she decided to go to the police station.
She felt she could recognize the man, so she told them her story.
The police asked her if she would be willing to look at a lineup to see if she could identify him.
She agreed and immediately pointed out the man she had seen in the alley the night before.
When the man was told he had been identified, he immediately broke down and confessed.
The officer thanked Diane for her bravery and asked if there was anything they could do for her.
She asked if they would ask the man one question.
Diane was curious as to why he had not attacked her.
When the policeman asked him, he answered, "Because she wasn't alone. She had two tall men walking on either side of her."
Amazingly, whether you believe or not, you're never alone. Did you know that 98% of teenagers will not stand up for God?
Repost this as Love vs. Sex if you truly believe in God.
PS: God is always there in your heart and loves you no matter what.....and if you stand up 4 him he will stand up for you.
I bet 93% of the people that read this wont repost it. | | |
| sex must be pretty amazing. i mean, there are so many songs written about it, so many movies capturing it, tv shows dedicated to it, magazine ads exploiting it, and commandments against it. not knowing from personal experience much about it, i am perplexed by this obsession of sex, especially of the western world. i've heard many a sermon about it, all which have helped clear my mind of this confusing issue. the way the world has shaped sex and relationships in general creates an image of utopia, that if you can get the guy or girl, you will be happy for the rest of your days. that is to say sex=pure happiness. now im not bashing sex, because it is a gift from God, but it is just that: a gift to be appreciated. we take it and turn it into our goals, expecting it to be the end to all our worries and sorrows. yet nothing of this world can be that satisfying, nothing of this world can make you that happy. true satisfaction and happiness comes from our heavenly Father above. without Him, we are doomed to writhe in our sin, saturated in the stench that is our transgressions. but thank God that He has sent his son that we can know Him and know true happiness. once the Lord has shown Himself to us, we can know true satisfaction not found in sex or relationships. i think once people actually realize this, sex will be appreciated and beautiful, no longer this idea of appeasing selfish, worldly desires. so thats me on my soapbox, felt inspired after listening to justin timberlakes new album: future sex/love sounds gnite | | |
